Join GA-CAN!
An affiliate of Voices, Georgia Children's Advocacy Network (GA-CAN!) is an active network of organizations contributing directly to policy development through investments in evaluation and research, advocacy and lobbying. Its mission is to unify advocates for children and families into one voice for long term outcomes for children in Georgia and to provide visibility and credibility for the child advocacy community among elected officials and other community leaders.
The goal of GA-CAN! is to build a powerful and visible coalition of community organizations that actively lobbies for discreet children's issues as well as Voices' comprehensive agenda for children.
GA-CAN! meets regularly to refine a joint policy agenda, to reinforce the unity of the child advocacy community, and to demonstrate strength to the policy and community leadership. Meetings involve speakers, panels, roundtable discussions and group consensus building as appropriate. Voices also sponsors annual forums such as Children's Policy Watch at the Capitol in support of the network.
While membership in GA-CAN! is reserved for those organizations that invest in children's research, policy development and lobbying at local, state and national levels, we invite others to join the Voices list serve and to check back frequently for opportunities to join a larger network of individuals and organizations who care about improving the well being of all Georgia's children . Please contact us at info@georgiavoices.org to find out how your group can participate or to lend feedback.
