Today was Family Day at the Capitol.  The halls were filled with children watching the legislature in action.

The Working Families Caucus held a rally for an increase in the Minimum Wage on the steps of City Hall, just across the street from the State House.

Monday, February 12, 2007
House Judiciary Committee will meet upon adjournment, in Room 132 CAP. The agenda includes: HB50 - The Interstate Compact for Juveniles; enact; repeal previous compac and HB270 - Juvenile proceedings; appointment of guardian ad litem; change provision. The Committee will reconvene at 4 pm in 307 CLOB to discuss several bills including SB42 - Child Support Recovery; authorize Dept. of Human Resources to impose fees on child support collection.

House Children and Youth Committee will meet at 9:00 AM in Room 403 CAP.

- HR90 - PeachCare; urge Congress to enroll children of public employee

- Carrie Downing, Department of Community Health

- Presentation to provide a brief description of federal, state and private health insurance plans and highlight their differences as it pertains to the citizens of Georgia.

The House Appropriations - Health Subcommittee will meet from 9 am to 12 pm in Room 606 CLOB. The subcommittee will hear from individuals and organizations that wish to address the subcommittee with regard to CMOs.  Please limit your presentation to 5 minutes and bring 15 copies of a summary of your comments.  If your comments are basically the same as others please join them instead of making a separate presentation.  Sign up sheet is located in 245 State Capitol.
