The Georgia Department of Education has created a new position for leading a statewide health and physical education program. Duties include serving as the health/physical education and general liaison to systems and Regional Education Service Agencies (RESA); implementing programs that facilitate achievement of goals and objectives and conform to policies and rules for grades K-12 health/ physical education programs; establishing an effective communication network for disseminating pertinent health/ physical education, GPS information; providing technical assistance to local school system personnel; developing and conducting professional learning/staff development activities; and applying current knowledge and professional expertise to job duties.
