David Gibbs joins Voices board
Voices for Georgia's Children today announced the election of David K. Gibbs to its board of directors.
The announcement of Mr. Gibbs’ joining Voices’ coincides with its election of board officers. Suzanne Detlefs of ChoicePoint Inc., succeeds IBM’s Ann Cramer as chairman. Penny McPhee of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation is vice-chairman and Jennifer Colvin of Alston & Bird LLP becomes treasurer.
Mr. Gibbs is the founder of Social Capital, LLC, a multi-functional project management service for foundations, corporations and local governments. The focus of current Social Capital projects include environmental and policy change for healthy eating and active living, healthcare systems change supporting the transition-from-homelessness and public will and policy development for addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Gibbs has split more than 18 years between service to community organizations and philanthropies in Delaware, Wisconsin and Georgia. Before starting Social Capital in 2006, he was a director at The Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, an organization that educates donors on local needs and connects them with appropriate nonprofits, community leaders and other partners.
