Initial Summary of the Governor's Budget: a summary produced by the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute providing an initial summary of the amended FY 2005 and the FY 2006 proposed budgets.
"Georgia’s Responsibilities to Children in Foster Care: A Reference Manual": Published by the Barton Child Law & Policy Clinic, details about how the state must fulfill its responsibility to children in foster care are enumerated in a complex combination of state and federal statutes, court decisions, state regulations, agency policies, and local practice. This manual integrates information from all these sources into one reference document that provides a clear approach to examining foster care requirements and an opportunity to examine gaps in practice.
FY 2006 State Budget Outlook: Provided by the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, this Budget Analysis discusses the budget requests of the Department of Education, Board of Regents, Department of Community Health, Department of Human Resources, and the Department of Corrections. Based on normal budget growth and projected new revenues it is estimated that the state could be facing a budget gap of between $550 million and $700 million.

Voices for America's Children: Strategic Approaches to Improving the Well-Being of Children in Foster Care, a Voices issue brief, explores some of the ways in which the well-being of children in foster care can be improved and looks at some programs that seem promising – programs that are aimed at ensuring children will do well in out-of-home care, recuperate from the detrimental situations that placed them there, and prepare them to return home or to enter a new family.
