Promising Policies Voices is Investigating:

• Formal programs for an “early start” to provide significant, lasting assistance to disadvantaged three-year-olds. Such programs could be administered through the Georgia pre-K program or by other means. • Georgia needs more child care services for children ages 0-4. Salary supplements and incentives for providers are important means of influencing quality improvement.

• Georgia needs a childcare rating system that alerts parents to the quality of services provided through the state.

• Elementary schools must build upon the success of children who have already benefited from Georgia pre-K and are leveraged for elementary achievement.
